Future Laboratory.

A beautiful publication series by MadeThought. Easily one of my top 3 studios in England, they consistently produce high impact, considered design appropriate to the clients needs. I love the simplicity of the design and how easily it communicates the information, this relates to my Architecture brief as I need to take a simple approach to stock, colour and typography choice as the brief focuses on minimalist architecture. I'm not too keen on the images placed over the headers as you can't read half of them. Unfortunately again there is no description for this project.

Build Works.

A lovely publication designed by Build and printed by Generation Press. Showcasing some of their work over the past few years. I'm mainly posting this design due to Generation press's wonderful attention to detail with print, everything they produce is of such high quality. If I had more money for my FMP I would love to take a lot of projects to them, hopefully I can get at least one through them. Over the next few months I would really like to visit their print studio to discuss their approach and wide range of options for print. Also it would be really beneficial to speak to Anand and get some feedback on my projects.

With my Pyramid publication I want to experiment with a variety of stock throughout the book but be careful not to over do it,  also small details like the pink slit through the paper cover make a lot of difference an create a nice impact.

Studio Small.

As I will be focusing on publication design a fair bit throughout my FMP I've been trying to find a wide range of publications experimenting with various different approaches. Unfortunately their isn't a description of the project to comment on, but the aesthetic gives an idea that the denim are for working males due to the time card cover. I want to focus on creating reason and concepts for every detail of my publication. Why the stock, Why the layout, Why the typography used etc. To ensure I create informed design appropriate to my clients.

Although there isn't much of a description online, I managed to find book with an in depth analysis of their approach. "We feel it is our role to really listen to the client and communicate their philosophy and personality", this quote has really made me consider my approach to design, I will be putting this into practice this year as I will be working closely with clients.

SIX

For my first blog post for FMP I thought I'd go fora piece of design that caught my eye in first year. Relating mostly to my love of print and print processes and also to a universe brief me and Frankie will be collaborating on. The wonderful colour choice and high impact and bold aesthetic created by the design is wonderful and something I hope to get from my prints.

'MadeBySix' is definitely a favorite studio of mine and luckily it's one of the few located in England, London. Focusing on high quality materials and processes to create beautifully crafted design appropriate to each client.

Another great aspect of this studio is their brand guidelines, this is something I want to nail this year, making sure I consider how a brand is structured. These guidelines have made me consider how I will be presenting my boards at the end of the year.
